Youth Study SEE 2024 Launched in Sarajevo!

With the lead authors, Dr. Jasmin Hasanović (SEE Study) and Dr. Amer Osmić (BiH Study), we discussed some of the key findings on youth opinions, attitudes, and values.

Regionally, the findings paint a picture of independent but concerned youth, primarily driven by the socio-economic uncertainties they perceive in their surroundings. Concerned about corruption, job security, and unemployment, their attitudes on political matters are largely influenced by a desire for better prospects and trustworthy decision-makers.

On the country level in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the narrowed-down picture differs slightly, with young people being largely distrustful not only of politics but also of anything that could be described as "other." Largely dependent on their families in every sense of the word, they are surprisingly happy with their individual level of life quality while being pessimistic about almost everything else.

We were pleased to have had representatives from academia, the international community, institutions, youth practitioners, policy developers, and the media to discuss these main points on youth in BiH and SEE.
